With our newest exhibit, AMFF celebrates the life and angling adventures of Jose Wejebe. After fleeing Cuba with his family in the 1970s, he ultimately landed in Miami, Florida, and from there began forging relationships with this country’s most respected saltwater anglers, such as Stu Apte, Flip Pallot, and Lefty Kreh. Developing his angling skill set, he became a renowned Florida Keys guide, and host of the long-running TV series, The Spanish Fly, up until his tragic death in 2012. His memory lives on through his family foundation and this new exhibit.
