As we approach the end of 2025, we reflect on the generosity of our supporters, whose contributions enable us to carry out our mission to educate and inspire anglers of all ages with the rich history of fly fishing—making nearly all of our content and programs accessible to everyone, and helping more anglers discover the magic of the past and the legacy that brought them here.
For more than 55 years, we’ve been preserving the history and telling the stories of the people, places, and things that matter most to this sport we love. From legendary guides and innovative rod makers, to the rivers and waters that have captivated generations of anglers, every story helps define the legacy of fly fishing.
As we look ahead, we’ve never been more excited about the future of AMFF. With an expanded slate of programs and events, and a growing number of publicly accessible online resources, we’re committed to making the rich legacy of fly fishing available to all.
In 2026, we’ll celebrate that commitment with several major initiatives:
- Our Manchester gallery will unveil a new permanent exhibition in August 2026, celebrating the rich past of the rods, reels, flies, and people that continue to inspire our future.
- We will continue uploading and unlocking records for our online collections database, which now allows anyone, anywhere, to explore our vast holdings. As we digitally document and share our cataloged records, we’re expanding access to the history that connects us all.
- We are working to take our highly acclaimed art exhibition, Reflections, on the road to reach an expanded audience in those communities.
- AMFF is in the process of curating a major exhibition which will document the Greater Yellowstone region’s influence on western American angling. By collecting artifacts and stories that showcase the contributions of anglers in the Yellowstone area, we will highlight their profound impact on the sport’s evolution in the United States.
Fly fishing history is made everywhere—but it all comes together here.
Your continued support makes this work possible. We hope you will make a tax-deductible donation to the American Museum of Fly Fishing today. As someone who truly understands the importance of our work, please help us expand our reach, sustain our mission, and grow this legacy for the collective good.
With gratitude,
—Sarah Foster, Executive Director
