Fifty years from now, we will look back on 2020 as the dawning of a new era for the American Museum of Fly Fishing. We will see this as the year AMFF transitioned from the small New England museum it was born into, to a multi-location experience with the ability to reach over a million visitors a year. Join us on this journey, and play a role in the success of what may be the most remarkable time in our institution’s history.
We ask that you consider the American Museum of Fly Fishing when making your decisions for year-end giving. Every donation received toward our annual appeal will directly support our initiatives for 2020:
- Having spent the last few months working on the conceptual design of our new exhibit gallery at the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium in Springfield, Missouri, we will jump directly into the research and curatorial phases in early 2020.
- With the largest public collection of fly-fishing art in the country, we are excited to delve further into our newest major acquisition as we curate a show to highlight the best of our Trophy Sporting Art Collection.
- We look forward to sharing the product of our recent film project, TIME, which will be shown on February 21st at the 2020 Izaak Walton Award Event as we honor Flip Pallot in Florida.
- As always, we continue offering high quality public programming including (but certainly not limited to) the annual kids clinics, Fly-Fishing Festival, and the publication of The American Fly Fisher. Be sure to look for the Robert Traver Fly Fishing Writing Award winner in the spring issue!
We are driven to be a preeminent museum with a world class fly-fishing collection. As we near 2020 our vision is clear and our growth is demonstrable. We understand our role, are prepared to perform, and pledge to continue to be the stewards of the history of our great sport. We will act with open-mindedness, creativity and collaboration, and most importantly, we will act with trust and integrity. The American Museum of Fly Fishing thanks you for your commitment. Without you our goals would not be achievable.
